The links you get are permanent and they should remain on the directory for as long as the directory exists. As long as you make directory submissions on a regular basis, even if some directories were to remove your links (the chances of this happening are very unlikely), the regular submissions made will ensure a constant flow of links to compensate for the lost ones.
